The Peasant
This song is my interpretation of yet another Hungarian folk song, beginning with “paraszt volt az édesapám”. I actually don’t really think this was a traditional song more like that the author was too shy to claim it. I haven’t found any reference to composer or writer so I just feel free to use it. I made this song totally online using Bandlab’s online editor. I recorded my voice with my mobile phone for a full low budget DIY feeling.
Also available on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, Deezer, Amazon, Bandcamp and many more platforms.
This is the story of a poor peasant
Who blamed music for his misfortune
He came from a family of farmers of many generations
Each one of them wealthier and prouder
Until the lines broken by his father
Who couldn’t resist the sound of music
He was lured into furious parties with women, drinking and gambling
until all was gone, the was nothing left to inherit
The peasant now lives a poor life and blames music for this
Music cannot be blamed
Music cannot be blamed
